2026<\/a> in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/sport\/football\/world-cup-ticket-prices-2026-fifa-gianni-infantino-b2972028.html\" title=\"How Fifa lost control and made the World Cup a rip-off for fans\">United States, Canada and Mexico this summer.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>With 48 teams involved in the tournament, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/sport\/football\/world-cup-2026-schedule-fixtures-dates-times-b2949640.html\" title=\"World Cup 2026 fixtures: Full schedule, venues and kick-off times after play-off winners confirmed\">which starts on 11 June<\/a>, there will be more players than ever accomplishing their goal of appearing in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/sport\/football\/world-cup-2026-odds-b2950024.html\" title=\"World Cup odds: Compare 2026 World Cup betting odds from top bookmakers\">football\u2019s most famous competition.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Each country must provide Fifa with a final squad of between 23 and 26 players (at least three of whom must be goalkeepers) by the deadline of 2 June, and a subsequently injured player may only be replaced by someone from a previously-submitted 55-man preliminary squad, up to 24 hours before the team\u2019s first World Cup match.<\/p>\n<p>Squads are set to be name throughout May, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/thomas-tuchel\">Thomas Tuchel<\/a> slated<a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/sport\/football\/england-squad-world-cup-2026-tuchel-b2949948.html\" title=\"England\u2019s World Cup 2026 squad: Who\u2019s on the plane, who\u2019s almost there and who still has work to do?\"> to name his<\/a> 26-man <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/england-football-team\">England <\/a>group on Friday 22 May, while Bosnia and
