Cristiano Ronaldo confirms marriage to long-time partner Georgina Rodriguez

Cristiano Ronaldo has married his long-term partner Georgina Rodriguez in a civil ceremony in Portugal.

The pair, who first met in Madrid and have been together since 2016, shared a photograph on Instagram displaying their rings.

Ronaldo, 41, tied the knot just four days prior to his club Al Nassr opening their 2026-27 Saudi Pro League season.

The service took place in Cascais, a coastal resort town situated approximately 20 miles west of Lisbon, the Portuguese capital, with their five children present.

The post on Instagram was captioned with the letters ‘C’ and ‘G’, with a love heart in between them.

Ronaldo has scored close to 1,000 goals across a career representing Sporting, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, Al Nassr and Portugal.

He recently featured in his sixth World Cup, sharing the record alongside Argentina’s Lionel Messi for most appearances in the men’s finals.

The couple first revealed their relationship in 2017 after appearing together at the Best FIFA Football Awards in Zurich, Switzerland, before posting each other on social media for the first time later that year.

In June 2017, they welcomed their first set of twins, Eva Maria and Mateo, via surrogate, and then welcomed their daughter Alana, in November 2017.

Ronaldo also has a son, Cristiano Jr., from a previous relationship.

A few years later, the model and the soccer player announced the death of their twin son, Ángel, in April 2022, as they revealed that their twin daughter, Bella, had been born.

Ronaldo and Rodríguez shared the news of their son’s passing in a joint social media post at the time. “It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce our baby boy has passed away. It is the greatest pain that any parents can feel,” they wrote. “Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness.”

The couple also took the opportunity to express their gratitude to the doctors, nurses and medical staff for “all their expert care and support.”

“We are all devastated at this loss and we kindly ask for privacy at this very difficult time,” they wrote. “Our baby boy, you are our angel. We will always love you.”
