Chelsea are back in Premier League action today following their dramatic midweek victory over Leeds in the Carabao Cup.
Xabi Alonso’s men will start this afternoon’s clash at Stamford Bridge as favourites but will be wary of a Hull side who have impressed since returning to the top flight.
The Tigers actually sit one point ahead of Chelsea in the Premier League table, having picked up seven points from their first three games – and without conceding a single goal.
The six goals they scored against Leeds on Wednesday night should give Chelsea the confidence they can break down the resolute Hull defence, however, as the Blues look to return to winning ways in the league having been beaten last time out against Arsenal.

A slight shuffle in defence as Gusto and Colwill come in for Lacroix and Acheampong.
Hato looks like he will shuffle back into the back three alongside Fofana and Colwill, while Gusto will play as a wing-back.

Alan Shearer’s prediction
Writing in his weekly Metro column, the former Newcastle striker said:
If I’d have said to you before a ball was kicked that Hull be the only team in the 92 not to concede a goal in the league so far this season, you’d have laughed at me. Great credit to them and they have been brilliant. I do think that will end this weekend. I think Chelsea will beat them and they could score three or four.
Looking at Chelsea’s form, they are brilliant going forward but you can tell they’re going to concede as well. Alonso has still got issues to work out defensively. But in terms of going forward, particularly with those three, there’s not many better up top than those three and they will always cause you problems and always score goals.
Their issue is stopping them at the other end. Hull can frustrate them on Saturday, but I think they’ll have enough to beat them.

Hull boss Sergej Jakirovic confirmed that his side have no new injury concerns, with Brooke Norton-Cuffy and Paddy McNair recovering from minor issues.
Hidemasa Morita and Charlie Hughes remain unavailable for the Tigers.

Xai Alonso confirmed on Friday that Moises Caicedo remains unavailable after suffering a knock in the 4-3 win over Brighton.
