Sunderland vs Arsenal LIVE: Premier League latest score and goal updates | Football

Arsenal will look to continue their perfect start to the new season tonight when they take on Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

The Gunners have picked up maximum points from their three Premier League games so far this campaign and are fresh off the back of an impressive victory over Napoli in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

But Arsenal will be wary of the threat posed by the Black Cats, who took points off Mikel Arteta’s men in the corresponding fixture last year.

Despite a mixed start to the season, which saw Sunderland lose to Ipswich on the opening day, Regis Le Bris’ side will be hoping they can take points off Arsenal once again in front of their boisterous home crowd.

Bruno back on enemy territory

I’m sure former Newcastle captain Bruno Guimaraes was given a warm reception upon arrival at the Stadium of Light. I’m sure of it.

Fofana on the bench for Black Cats

Arsenal looked into signing Malick Fofana late on in the summer transfer window but in the end, it was left down to Sunderland and Crystal Palace to scrap it out for the French starlet.

He landed on Wearside where big things are expected.

The former Brighton defender is ‘fine’ according to his manager however and is expected to take his place in the side at the Stadium of Light tonight.

Arteta confirmed on Friday that Cristhian Mosquera is ‘progressing well’ and could be in contention to make the squad today. Jurrien Timber meanwhile has been stepping up his return in training but tonight could come too soon for him.
