World leader told ‘never mess it up’ in thinly-veiled World War 3 warning

Chinese President Xi Jinping appeared to issue a thinly-veiled warning about the potential for World War 3 during a speech at a state dinner with President Donald Trump, urging both nations to carefully handle US-China relations

During a state banquet with President Donald Trump, Chinese leader Xi Jinping seemed to deliver an ominous caution regarding World War 3 while addressing those gathered at the table.

He commenced, “President Trump and I both believe that the China-U.S. relationship is the most important bilateral relationship in the world. We must make it work and never mess it up.”

Subsequently, he continued, “The world today is changing and turbulent. China-U.S. relations concern the well-being of over 1.7 billion people of both countries and affect the interests of the over 8 billion people of the world,” which might suggest it was in both nations’ interests to prevent any confrontation.

“Both sides should rise up to this historic responsibility and steer the giant ship of China-U.S. relations forward, steadily and in the right direction,” Xi pressed. The Chinese leader then concluded his remarks with a “Cheers” as he lifted his glass.

Subsequently, when it became Trump’s opportunity to address the gathering, he lavished Xi with compliments, noting that he had been given a “magnificent welcome like no other” while declaring that he had enjoyed fruitful discussions with Xi Jinping, reports the Express US.

“It was a great honor to be with you,” he continued. The US President concluded his address by extending an invitation to Xi and his spouse, Peng Liyuan, to visit the White House on 24 September.

“And we look forward to it,” Trump declared. The White House disclosed that the dinner menu showcased numerous Chinese-influenced courses, featuring Lobster in Tomato Soup, Crispy Beef Ribs, Beijing Roast Duck, Stewed Seasonal Vegetables, and Slow-Cooked Salmon in Mustard Sauce. Diners also savoured Pan-Fried Pork Bun, Trumpet Shell-Shaped Pastry, and Tiramisu, complemented with fruits and ice cream.

Both American and Chinese representatives have suggested that Trump and Xi might potentially convene four times in 2026, with possible encounters at the Group of 20 summit in Miami and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation conference in Guangzhou later this year.

This diplomatic cordiality represents a remarkable shift from the chilly beginning to Trump’s second term, when extensive trade levies imposed on countries globally – including China – sparked a comprehensive trade conflict between the two economic powerhouses, a dispute that has since substantially eased.
