‘Majorca’s Fritzl’ jailed for keeping stepdaughter as sex slave in ‘punishment cellar’

A man dubbed “Majorca’s Fritzl” who held his own stepdaughter captive as a sex slave in a house of horrors complete with its own “punishment cellar,” has been jailed. Spanish police used a ladder to scale a wall before rushing into the home where a 51-year-old Spanish man subjected his victim to daily rape over five years, while confining her in a hidden cellar.

He has been likened to Majorca’s own Josef Fritzl, an Austrian man infamous for raping his own daughter numerous times while keeping her imprisoned in the family home’s cellar. The Spaniard has since been handed a 34-year prison sentence for trafficking, sexually abusing a minor, creating abuse material and violating her privacy.

During the closed trial, it was revealed that the girl’s abuse began in 2015 when the man – known only as JLL – travelled to Nigeria. The victim was merely seven-years-old at the time and lived in severe poverty with her single mother and two sisters when the Spaniard portrayed himself as a generous benefactor promising them a better life.

The abuser claimed he could elevate the family from their impoverished state, presenting himself as a “human God” to them. “The minor, who had never before met a Caucasian person, was absolutely captivated by the improved quality of life the accused offered her, developing a strong sense of emotional dependence on him,” the ruling stated, according to Spanish outlet El Pais.

JLL later wed the girls’ mother in a sham marriage in an attempt to bring her over to Spain, reports the Mirror. During trips to the country while visas were being sorted, he groomed the child so she would perceive his assaults as acts of kindness towards her.

Court officials heard the man exposed her to indecent child images and instructed her to send him sexual images of herself from when she was merely eight-years-old.

When the mother and daughter reached Europe in November 2019, the predator instantly separated them. He took the girl to a remote property in central Majorca and coerced her into signing fraudulent contracts promising daily sex and household duties.

Using this as leverage, he claimed he would subsequently bring her younger sisters to Spain. The victim endured abuse over five years until she reached 17 and was attacked even while she wept or slept.

His appalling crimes were exposed in March 2024 when the victim revealed details about her horrific abuse to her mum. The judges stated: “It is difficult to imagine what the victim suffered.

“Everything described has had devastating and profoundly serious effects on the minor, especially in her psychological and social spheres, which are likely to last for the rest of her life.”

JLL has denied the allegations against him and said he wanted to take the girl out of her desperate situation.

The judges’ ruling can still be appealed.
