LimX Luna Humanoid Robot Steps Into View With Natural Motion and a Price That Actually Fits Real Plans

Humanoid robots have spent years hovering just out of reach for most places that could use them. LimX Dynamics built Luna to change that equation. The machine stands 160 centimeters (5’2″) tall, weighs 54 kilograms (119 pounds) with its battery installed, and carries a full-size frame wrapped in premium textile finishes that give it a calmer, less industrial presence than many earlier designs.

Its shape provides the robot with an amazing 27 active degrees of freedom, spanning the legs, arms, waist, and neck, allowing it to keep balanced even on a steady stroll and produce gestures that feel truly related to what it’s doing. The motion system has been improved to the second generation, which features more powerful joint motors for much smoother movement. Fast walking rates of up to five kilometers per hour are now feasible. The arms can take up to three kilograms, however the amount of weight you can really carry varies greatly depending on how you hold them.

The power supply is a standard battery, which has a lifespan of about four hours when used continuously.
