Brian Brobbey injury update ahead of Sunderland vs Brighton | Football

Sunderland striker Brian Brobbey will miss this weekend’s Premier League clash with Brighton after injuring himself on international duty.
Brobbey scored his first league goals of the season before the international break, netting a hat-trick in Sunderland’s 5-3 defeat to Manchester City.
But the Dutch striker is now set for a period on the sidelines after picking up a hamstring injury during the Netherlands’ 1-1 draw with Germany.
‘With Brian, it’s going to be short-term,’ Regis Le Bris told reporters in Thursday’s pre-match press conference.
‘It’s really positive; we were a bit worried when we saw the video but Brian, just after the game, wasn’t too worried because he experienced different injuries in the past.
‘This one, he was adamant that it wasn’t too serious, but we won’t take risks.’
Elsewhere, the Black Cats will also be without Dan Ballard after he picked up a hamstring injury while playing for Northern Ireland against Georgia.

‘It’s a shame for Ballard because he was in a good place and will be sidelined for a few weeks,’ Le Bris added.
‘It’s a medium-term injury and we’ll keep you updated.’
