A major manhunt has been launched after a vehicle ploughed into crowds at Berlin’s Pride festival in a ramming attack, killing one person and injuring at least 16 others

German authorities have issued a wanted notice for a suspect involved in the vehicle ramming incident near Berlin’s Pride festival.
Berlin police have identified the suspect as Abdul B. , a 21 year old man described as having a “slim build” and black hair. He is reportedly wearing a black hoodie and white trousers.
He is accused of injuring several individuals in the Tiergarten area and is currently on the run, according to a statement.
“One or more people are believed to have subsequently fled the vehicle,” the police further stated.
“Furthermore, several people are reported to have been injured with stabbing weapons,” they added.
Berlin descended into turmoil on Saturday evening when a vehicle ploughed into crowds attending the city’s annual Christopher Street Day Pride celebrations in Tiergarten Park.
Police confirmed one fatality and at least 16 injuries from the attack, with three victims in a critical condition.
Eyewitnesses reported a white minivan-style vehicle speeding before it crashed into pedestrians. The vehicle was left so severely damaged that police found it challenging to identify its exact make and model.

A significant manhunt is now in progress after the driver escaped the scene. Over 2,200 police officers have been mobilised across Berlin as the investigation continues.
Authorities have revealed that the suspect is known to the police and has connections to the Islamist scene in Berlin.
Investigators are still working to determine a motive and have issued an appeal for witnesses and anyone with video evidence of the attack to step forward.
The incident led to the cancellation of the remaining Berlin Pride festivities, with thousands of participants being evacuated from the vicinity. Police have cautioned that the casualty count may yet increase as several of the wounded are in a critical state.
