Music festival ‘cancelled’ as man dies after being found ‘unresponsive’ in tent
A man believed to be in his late 40s was found unresponsive in his tent at the Love Is A Stranger Festival at Ballyvolane House near Fermoy, East Cork, as organisers have decided to cancel the event

An investigation has been initiated by Gardai following the discovery of a man’s body in a tent at a music festival in East Cork this morning (July 19).
The man, who was reportedly in his late 40s, was found unresponsive in his tent at the Love Is A Stranger Festival at Ballyvolane House near Fermoy. Despite immediate alert to emergency services, it is believed he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The remainder of the festival has now been called off. It’s understood that the deceased was a DJ, well-known within the Cork music scene, regularly promoting and performing in the city and beyond.

The heartbreaking news has reportedly been shared with his family.
The festival organisers have cancelled the second day of music and performances at this, the second edition of the roving mini-festival, reports Cork Beo.
In a statement, the organisers expressed: “We are absolutely devastated to learn of the death of a festival attendee today.
“Our thoughts are with the individual’s family, friends, and loved ones at this extremely difficult time.
“We are assisting An Garda Síochána and the emergency services in every way possible, and will not comment further while their inquiries are ongoing.
“Out of respect for those affected, today’s closing concert has been cancelled.
“We would like to thank the emergency services, our crew, volunteers and attendees and hosts for their support and understanding.”
